The journey begins
Today, Clare and I climbed (read walked) Moel Famau.
It was fantastic! We've long talked about going for walks in the country to admire the scenery, get fit and do something more constructive with our time other than watch TV and poke keyboards and today I feel as though we actually started that journey.
As we reached the summit I stood at the highest point I could find, fought vertigo & fatigue, and was rewarded with an immense sense of accomplishment. Huge. Much more than when I do something impressive at the gym (like attend). Something clicked when I was up there ... top of the world ... I was tired, I was sweaty, I was out of breath ... but I was alive too. Quite a cliche I know, but the feeling was ... well, fantastic. Massive surges of endorphines and everything.
On the way up Clare and I talked a great deal about a whole lot of things ... how fantastic this walk was, how we should have brought a camera, how we should do this more often, how Snowdon should be one of our short term goals, how we should bring the cats (Badger & Boo) next time etc. etc. But one of the startling things, to my mind at least, was our rediscovery of the word Cagoule;
My hopes for this blog are simple, Id like this slice of cyberspace to document the walks and photographs that Clare and I undertake. In one years time Id like to look back and say
I think it would be great to share this journey online so that Clare and I can contribute to this blog as we see fit; commenting here, ammending there, sharing this new idea with anyone who'll listen (or read, as the case may be).
So then, goals are:
